Not all signs on this list are equally alerting and not all of them necessarily mean scam, but if he/she generally fits the pattern, it is most likely a scam! - Their profile picture looks professionally done and can be found on a modeling website - They are middle-aged high rank US military - Their height/weight is not proportional -e.g.6' and 95 lbs - They claim to be older/younger than the photo looks - They claim to have blonde hair and blues eyes when the picture is dark hair and brown eyes or vice versa - They have a wedding ring on the photo yet they claim to be single - They claim to be Native American or some other ethnicity when the photo is Caucasian - Their specified age range seems to have no limit-e.g.25-80, but usually they search for middle-aged ladies - They have weird usernames containing "4real" or "4luv" - They say they are "God fearing" and search for "God fearing" - They always claim they are honest and caring, and their username often contain the words "honest" and "care" - Their first names are also weird, like Martins, Williams, Kevins, Waynes, etc...

(full story) 11/3/2017 There are different scam scenarios. Scammer tries to keep up a regular correspondence, but all letters you receive contain only general content and there is no concrete information in them. You receive a photo of a potential date and the photo doesn't match up (e.g.

the photo looks like it is from a magazine or the description the person has given of themselves doesn't match the photo)...

They chat using almost same style and language : Sentence to watch out for : -am doing fine (the I will be left out or I'm) -take care of yourself for me, -your wish is my command, -bye for now, -love you till the last drop of my blood -talk to me pls (their pls is always end of sentence) -am god fearing, swear by god words, curse themselves (most christian wont do that cos we know what god will do to us), will not hesistate to use words from the bible or quote stories from bible to get the money,- you will be praise for your kindness,hard work and promise to be with you to help you raise your kids,take you go on holidays and marry you ...... words paints a thousand words and that is what they are trained to do....

Scammers are internationally linked and they are IT based.

- Their last names are usually Cole, Moore, Smith or Williams - They say they are "XX by name" and "XX by age" - They say "am" instead of "I am", for example: "am Williams by name..." - They say "hope to read from you soon" - They say they are from Keller, VA. Because it has the same zip code as Nigeria: 23401 - Their occupation is often "building contractor" or "civil engineer" for men and "model" or "nurse" for women - Their introductory letter often contains the phraze: "Remeber the distance or colour does not matter but love matters alot in life." (typical for Senegal scammers) - They immediately want to get off the website and onto Yahoo IM or MSN IM - They are not usually around on the weekends to IM - They IM at unusual hours for your time zone - Their profile seems to disappear off the website immediately after conversation begins - Their spelling is atrocious - They are notorious for using 'i' instead of 'I' - They consistently use webspeak or abbreviations: u r ur cos pls/plz ma sry brb div acc - Their grammar is not consistent with how Americans speak, French speak etc...
